Cultural criticism is the result of the development of critical knowledge in different disciplines and influenced by new critical schools. Cultural criticism tries to depict social problems artistically in order to eradicate these problems. Badria al-Bashr in India and Soldiers has discussed the issue of women and their role in the society of Saudi Arabia. He is like a real critic who shows the inadequacies and oppressions that are applied to women in the society of Riyadh, and by doing this, he intends to implicitly represent these social inadequacies in the form of stories and through the words of women. The present article, which is a descriptive and analytical research, aims to examine the views and opinions of Badria al-Bashr regarding the issue of women in Saudi Arabia, according to the theory of cultural criticism. One of the most important problems that women in Saudi Arabia are dealing with and that Albasher has dealt with in his novel is violence and oppression against women, radical despair, depression and lack of self-esteem. The lack of social status, the dominance of men's discourse on them and the limitation of women to specific gender identities, etc., he writes about women's anxiety and also their wishes to gain freedom, authentic identity and social status. In addition, the author portrays the challenge between tradition and modernity in India and the soldiers. Besides paying attention to the elements of the story, Badriyeh al-Bashr has used story-writing techniques, tricks such as irony, allegory, and symbolism.
