Gothic is a style in art and literature that is famous for dealing with themes such as horror, fear and dread. This style has found a significant place in story writing by using strange characters and by combining mysterious elements with violence and displaying images of crime and abandoned and uninhabited environments. Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq (1962-2018) and Rambad Khanlari (1983) are two contemporary Arabic and Iranian novelists who wrote fictional works in the Gothic domain. The collection of stories "The Story of Room 207" (2008) by Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq has significant similarities in content and structure with the collection of stories "Sartan Jen" (2007) by Khanleri. The purpose of this research is the comparative study of Gothic components in the collection of stories "The Story of Room 207" and "Jen Cancer". The method of conducting this research is a descriptive analysis that was done through library notes. The results indicate that the main common elements of Gothic in the collection of stories "The Story of Room 207" and "Sartan Jen" are, in order of importance, characterization, mysterious atmosphere, unbelievable events, possession and violence.
