Translating texts that contain words, slang, and cultural, social, etc. issues into the source language requires extensive study and the translator's knowledge; Because translating these texts is associated with challenges. Criticism of such translations can solve some of the translation problems of these texts. One of the critical methods is the application of theories. The theory used in this paper to critique cultural categories in translation is Newmark's theory. In this research, a descriptive-analytical method has been used to critique the Arabic translation of the short story "Farkhondeh" celebration from a collection of five stories written by Jalal Al-e-Ahmad based on Newmark theory. Based on the findings of this study, which was obtained by placing comparable examples of Abd al-Wahab Mahmoud Aloub's translation of the story of “Jashn-e Farkhondeh”with Newmark theory, In this translation, out of the eighteen solutions proposed by Newmark in translating cultural elements, the cultural equivalent has a high frequency and from the cultural categories introduced in the mentioned theory, material culture has the most examples in the mentioned translation. It is noteworthy that in translating some cultural elements, the translator has sometimes written wrong equations, which in the present study, according to Newmark's theory, some equivalents have been suggested to translate some of these elements. The results are displayed with the help of tables and graphs.
