Some of the common fantasy themes in these two works are the similarity in the plot, the main character, the combination of real and imaginary characters, the use of similar functional actions such as spells, events, and assistance, and also common fantasy principles such as surprise and excitement, voluntary suspension of disbelief, metamorphosis, and the open-ending principle.
