Abstract

Arabic and Persian culture and literature have had a lot of interaction with each other during various historical periods due to the many connections between the people of these two lands. The impact of Iranian and Arab poets on each other's culture and literature is one of the most obvious manifestations of this interaction. Nizar Bani al-Marjah, a Syrian poet, is one of the contemporary Arab poets who has a trace of Persian culture and literature in his poems, under the influence of this literary interaction. In his poem, he mentioned great poets such as Saadi, Hafez and Khaju. He also mentioned the names of some historical cities and places in Iran. The author of this research, using a descriptive-analytical method, investigated Iranian characters and places in the poetry of Nizar Bani al-Marja, as well as the influence of this poet on Persian culture and literature, and identified the most frequent symbols of Persian literature in his poems. Persian culture and literature, due to its rich meaning, has gone beyond its geographical boundaries and mixed with the tender feelings of contemporary Arab poets and manifested in the form of beautiful poems, of which the poems of Nizar Bani al-Marjah are a clear example.
