A comparative reading of the propositions of magical realism in the novels of the Al-Marhoum by Hassan Kamal and Azadaran-e Bayal by Gholam-Hossein Saedi

Abstract

Magic realism is one of the characteristics of realism in the second half of the twentieth century. Kamal and Saedi are among the pioneers of this style. Al-Marhoum and Azadaran-e Bayal are prominent examples of this style. In this paper, the writer's methods are analyzed with a descriptive-analytical method based on the American school of thought. The need to know the content and elements of magical realism with regards to the social, cultural, and political problems of the two countries (Egypt and Iran), myths, and beliefs is the necessity of research in this respect. The results show that the authors used magical realism to express the political and social problems in their society. The element of "magic", "illusion", and "imagination", after the element of "reality", forms the foundation of these two stories. The background of both writers' tendency towards magical realism style should be considered through the psychological aspects of the characters in their stories and common individual characteristics. In Al-Marhoum, the components of magical realism; Such as "symbolization", "mystery", "sound and smell" have a more prominent presence, and more examples of the elements of "duality", "myth" and "sound and smell" can be observed in in this novel.

تجلّیات الواقعیة السحریة فی الروایتین المرحوم لحسن کمال و عزاداران بَیَل لغلامحسین الساعدی (دراسة مقارنة)

Abstract [العربیة]

الواقعیة السحریة هی إحدى السمات الممیزة للواقعیة فی النصف الثانی من القرن العشرین والتی غیرت الهیاکل الحقیقیة من خلال الاندماج مع الخیال. حسن کمال وغلامحسین الساعدی من رواد هذا الأسلوب فی سرد القصص فی الروایات العربیة والفارسیة المعاصرة. وتعتبر روایات «المرحوم» و «عزاداران بَیَل» أمثلة بارزة على هذا النمط من روایة القصص فی هذا المقال، جرت محاولة لفحص حیل المؤلفین فی هذین العملین مستخدما المنهج الوصفی و التحلیلی على اساس المدرسة الأمریکیة معتمدا على مبادئ الواقعیة السحریة. إن الحاجة إلى معرفة موضوع وعناصر الواقعیة السحریة فی ضوء المشکلات الاجتماعیة والثقافیة والسیاسیة لمصر وإیران ومن حیث الأساطیر والمعتقدات هی ضرورة أساسیة للبحث. أظهرت النتائج أن المؤلفین استخدموا الواقعیة السحریة للتعبیر عن المشاکل السیاسیة والاجتماعیة فی المجتمع المصری والإیرانی. یشکل عنصر «السحر» و «الوهم والخیال» بعد عنصر «الواقع» أساس هاتین الروایتین. یجب مراعاة خلفیة میل کلا الکتابین إلى الواقعیة السحریة فی الجوانب النفسیة لشخصیات روایتهما وخصائصهما الشخصیة المشترکة وهی اللغة البسیطة والسحریة، والتوضیح الجدید، والواقعیة المرة ونظرتهما المستنیرة لمجتمعهما من السمات المشترکة لروایتهما.فی المرحوم مکونات الواقعیة السحریة؛ مثل «الرمزیة» و «الغموض» و «الصوت والرائحة» لها حضور أکثر بروزا، وفی عزاداران بَیَل، یمکن رؤیة المزید من الأمثلة على عناصر «التضاد» و «الأسطورة» و «الصوت والرائحة». یتحدث «المرحوم» عن هیمنة بعض رجال الأمن ویذکر الساعدی بذکاء وجود استعمار فی إیران فی «عزاداران بَیَل».
